Structure and Preparation Application of Hydrogen Compressor Equipment

The hydrogen compressor belongs to the oil-free reciprocating compressor, which is a positive displacement compressor that compresses and transports gas by reciprocating the piston in the cylinder. The piston is driven by a crankshaft connecting rod device to reciprocate inside the cylinder, and then compresses and transports gas.

Mainly composed of: crankcase, crankshaft, connecting rod, crosshead, piston, cylinder, gear pump, intake valve, exhaust valve, etc.

The crankcase is made of cast iron and there are no side windows for inspection and maintenance.

The crankshaft and connecting rod are made of forged steel, the crankshaft bearings are rolling bearings, and the crankshaft seals are mechanical seals. The gear pump driven by the crankshaft adopts a forced smooth circuit to ensure the smoothness of the crankcase.

The cylinder is made of ductile iron.

The air valve is a stainless steel valve and a flat plate type.

To ensure the long-term safe operation of the compressor, it can actively announce an alarm when the compressor is in a dangerous working condition. If it cannot recover to normal working conditions, it will automatically shut down.

Preparation before starting the compressor:

1. Clean up the factory and site, adhere to environmental cleanliness, and ensure that there are no factors that affect the work of operators.

2. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the compressor gas pipeline and all valves on the pipeline to ensure that they are sensitive and functional. Confirm that the inlet and outlet valves, outlet vent valves, flare vent valves, high point vent valves, etc. of the compressor are closed, and confirm that the root valve of the safety valve is open.

3. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the compressor circulating cooling water system and all valves on the pipelines to ensure that they are sensitive and functional. Open the oil cooler, coarse filter, and fine filter inlet and outlet oil valves in sequence, and close other oil circuit valves. Confirm that the oil level in the fuel tank and the oil level in the motor bearing seat are above 2/3, sample and analyze the qualified products, and open all pressure gauge root valves on the smooth oil pipeline.

How can hydrogen compressors be applied in the field of hydrogen energy to achieve carbon neutrality?

Hydrogen energy, as a green and environmentally friendly energy source, has also encountered unprecedented development opportunities. Hydrogen energy is a secondary energy source that supports the clean transformation of future energy. In the process of hydrogen production and use, hydrogen compressors are essential process equipment. In the past, the piston type process compressor was used as the standard, which has the characteristics of stable performance, durability, and easy maintenance, and has been widely used.

The main hydrogen production processes include:; Methanol hydrogen production, ammonia decomposition hydrogen production, water electrolysis hydrogen production, and so on. The hydrogen produced is often pressurized by a hydrogen compressor and used for other purposes. In addition, after being pressurized by a hydrogen compressor, the following energy sources can be converted into each other:

1. Conversion of electrical energy to electrical energy: Electrolytic hydrogen production achieves the conversion of electrical energy to hydrogen energy, and if necessary, hydrogen energy can be converted back into electrical energy through fuel cells.

2. Conversion of electrical energy to gas: After electrolytic hydrogen production, hydrogen is directly mixed into natural gas pipelines, or methane is synthesized and mixed into natural gas pipelines; Blended natural gas provides thermal energy as fuel at the terminal.

3. Conversion of electrical energy to fuel: After electrolysis to produce hydrogen, hydrogen is used as fuel for fuel cell vehicles to provide power. The specific application modes of hydrogen as an energy carrier involve new energy hydrogen production for supplementary power generation, fuel cell vehicles, distributed power generation, and other fields.
