Reasons and treatment measures for crankshaft fracture of piston compressor
Most crankshaft fractures occur at the fillet transition between the journal and the crankshaft arm.
Cause analysis:
1. The transition fillet of the crankshaft is too small, and during heat treatment, the fillet is not properly treated, resulting in stress concentration at the junction of the crankshaft neck and the crankshaft arm
2. The crankshaft fillet machining is irregular, with unequal radii, resulting in excessive unevenness and stress concentration;
3. The long-term overload operation of the equipment worsens the stress condition of the crankshaft, leading to a decrease in fatigue life
4. The material itself has defects, such as sand holes, shrinkage, etc. in the casting, which reduce the actual bearing capacity of the crankshaft
5. Cracks are generated at the crankshaft oil hole, and oil infiltration gradually expands the cracks, ultimately causing them to break.
Handling measures:
1. Increase the transition fillet of the crankshaft appropriately, maintain uniform heat treatment, and eliminate stress concentration;
2. Ensure the quality of crankshaft fillet machining, such as shape accuracy and roughness, and improve the fatigue strength of the crankshaft
3. Overloading of equipment is strictly prohibited. In case of failure, the equipment should be shut down for maintenance to avoid working with defects;
4. Improve the level of crankshaft casting technology to avoid defects such as sand holes and shrinkage porosity on the castings;
5. Strictly control the machining process and quality of crankshaft oil holes, and promptly remove burrs after machining to prevent cracking
