Safety inspection of bottling after compression of nitrogen compressor

Nitrogen is extremely stable in its normal state. Although the danger is not great, there are still safety hazards. After the compression of the nitrogen compressor, the manufacturer should pay attention to some matters to ensure the safety of the user. It is more secure for the user to perform a second inspection.

main:

  • Nitrogen compressor manufacturer's precautions

  • Secondary inspection of the cylinder after compression of the nitrogen compressor

Nitrogen compressor manufacturer's precautions

1.Compressed gas cylinders should be used upright and must be secured with a frame or fence.

2. Pressurized gas cylinders should be placed in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat and fire, and avoid direct sunlight. Sun exposure is strictly prohibited. Flammable gas bottles should be stored separately from oxygen bottles. It is strictly prohibited to place flammable materials around, and it is strictly forbidden to let flammable gas catch fire.

3. It is forbidden to move the cylinders at will, and it should be handled lightly when allowed to move.

4. Pay attention to check the airtightness of the cylinder and the connecting air circuit when using it to ensure that the gas does not leak. When using the gas in the cylinder, use a pressure reducing valve (barometer). Barometers for various gases must not be mixed to prevent explosions.

5. After use, close the valve as required, and the main valve should be tightened and not leaked. Develop the habit of checking cylinders when leaving the lab.

6. Do not use up all the gas in the cylinder, and keep the residual pressure above 0.05MPa (pressure gauge pressure). A flammable gas such as acetylene should have a residual 0.2-0.3 MPa.

7. In order to avoid confusion with various gases, use a specific color on the outside of the cylinder to distinguish it, and write the name of the gas in the bottle on the bottle.

8. Never allow oil or other flammable organic matter to get on the cylinder (especially valves and pressure reducing valves). Do not block with cotton or hemp to prevent accidents caused by burning.

9. All kinds of cylinders must be inspected regularly according to national regulations. During the use, the condition of the cylinders must be observed. If serious corrosion or other serious damage is found, it should be stopped and reported in advance.

Secondary inspection of the cylinder after compression of the nitrogen compressor

For the user, you should pay attention to whether the cylinder you received has a safety hazard. For safety reasons, the manufacturer of the nitrogen compressor should also be inspected at the time of bottling, and the user should also perform a second inspection.

1.Color coding and labeling

Although the cylinder is color coded, it should not be relied upon to identify the content. Labels attached to the cylinder must always be used as the primary means of content identification. Cylindrists without labels or cylinders whose labels do not match the color coding should not be used. They need to be shelved or isolated and returned to the supplier. If any cylinder does not have an additional identification label, it must be rejected at the time of delivery.

Once the contents of the cylinder have been determined, it must be checked that the gas is suitable for the application. The gas pressure in the cylinder should not exceed the installed regulator and the cylinder needs to be fixed so that it does not tip over, ideally in a dedicated cylinder block or reservoir.

2. Cylinder valve

The cylinder valve is mounted on the cylinder when delivered. It is basically a valve that opens or closes with a key or wrench. Then install the pressure regulator. If the valve is on a newly filled, unused cylinder, there should be a factory seal. A check should be made to ensure that the parts are intact and free from contamination. It is important that there are no signs of solvent, oil, grease or PTFE tape and that dirt and moisture must be removed. Please note that PTFE sealing tape must never be used as the pressure regulator has its own rubber seal. If used with certain gaseous substances, PTFE can cause fire/explosion.

3. Pressure regulator

Check if it has a date stamp or code and it is usually 5 years during its inspection period.

Check to make sure the identification and rating labels are consistent with the manufacturer's name and/or identification and apply to the gas type.

Check that it meets the local standards for pressure regulators and that the gauges are marked to comply with appropriate local standards, such as ISO 2503 for regulators, ISO 5171 for pressure gauges, unmodified or unauthorized repairs.

Check for general signs of damage or unauthorized modifications and check externally that the pressure relief valve is intact and does not require modification or unauthorized repair. Check internally if they are not blocked.

Check the cylinder connections to ensure they are free of oil, grease, solvent, debris, PTFE, and perpendicular to the regulator body. Check that the regulator pressure gauge is in place and the correct type of gas and scale for gas pressure. The cleaned lid should be in the position where the needle is correctly reading zero, not under the stop rod or bent.

Check that the pressure rating is suitable for the cylinder pressure. Externally check that the pressure relief valve is intact and does not require modification or unauthorized repair. Check internally if they are not blocked.

Check that the outlet pressure adjustment range is appropriate for the application and downstream equipment pressure rating.

Finally, check that the back is in place and that the pressure relief cover is not in place due to an overpressure event.

Two inspections greatly reduced the safety hazard of nitrogen. When you are more important in the bottling of oxygen compressors and hydrogen compressors, everything is safe.
