1. What are the components of the CO2 compressor?

The basic components of a CO2 compressor are an electric motor, a pump and a receiver. Receivers can be vertical or horizontal, with different sizes and capacities. An electric motor powers the compression pump. The motor then drives the pulley through two belts. The pulley passes power from the motor to the pump piston through the flywheel and crankshaft. The flywheel fan helps cool the compressor pump.

CO2 compressor pump: the pump compresses the air and places it side by side in a receiver. A two-stage air compressor shall have at least two pump cylinders. Through two compressions of air, first in a larger low-pressure cylinder, and then in a smaller high-pressure cylinder, a two-stage compressor can generate pressure.

Piston: When the piston in the pump cylinder moves downward, air enters the cylinder through the filter and inlet valve under atmospheric pressure. On an upstroke, the pistons in the larger cylinder compress the air to about 50psi and drain it through the intercooler to the smaller cylinder.

Receiver: The air is cooled by the flywheel fan, which enters the smaller cylinder through the intercooler. In smaller cylinders, high pressure is used to compress further into the final state. As the piston moves upward, it compresses air and drains it to the receiver through a check valve.

The CO2 compressor is the machine that powers the machinery. These devices are used in many places, from gas stations to water purification plants, and in between, you'll come across a lot of these devices. The basic purpose of these devices is to provide power, so its output is measured on the crankshaft, just like an automobile engine.

The purpose of the CO2 compressor is to qualitatively analyze how different design concepts affect the heat transfer and heat dissipation of the compressor, resulting in different performance of the CO2 compressor in terms of reliability and efficiency.

CO2 compressors have two characteristics: high working pressure and high pressure difference. These pressure levels are 4 to 10 times higher than those of hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants. Therefore, the following factors must be considered in the development of CO2 compressor:

Higher efficiency

Lighter weight

What we have done is to translate these factors into reality by dividing the compression of the CO2 compressor into two stages, so that the inside of the case is at an intermediate pressure. The result is the rotating two-stage compressed CO2 compressor.
