An oxygen compressor is a compressor used to pressurize and deliver oxygen. Oxygen is a strong combustion-supporting agent and can easily cause combustion and explosion. Care should be taken when designing and using oxygen compressors:


1. It is strictly forbidden to contact compressed gas parts with oil. The cylinder is not lubricated with water or glycerin or without oil. The oil was not contaminated during maintenance. It must be cleaned with solvent before assembly.


2. Since the humidity is high when water is added for lubrication, the temperature will rise during compression, and the oxygen in the humidity cabinet is corrosive, so the material in contact with oxygen should be corrosion resistant and require good thermal and electrical conductivity. The cylinder is generally made of phosphor bronze, the piston is made of aluminum alloy, and the intercooler is made of copper tube or stainless steel tube.


3. The average speed of the piston should be low, and the gas speed in the pipeline should also be lower than the gas speed in the air compressor;


4. The exhaust temperature should not be too high. When adding water for lubrication, the exhaust temperature cannot exceed 100~12°C. When using the oil-free lubrication structure filled with polytetraethylene, the exhaust temperature cannot exceed 160°C. The pressure ratio of each level should not be too high.


The working process of oxygen compressor


The process can be divided into four processes: expansion, suction, compression and exhaust.

1. Expansion: When the piston moves to the left, the volume of the cylinder increases, the pressure drops, and the residual gas originally remaining in the cylinder expands.


2. Suction: When the pressure drops to slightly less than the air pressure in the intake pipe, the gas in the intake pipe will push the suction valve into the cylinder. As the piston moves to the left, the gas continues to enter the cylinder until the piston moves to the left.


3. Compression: As the piston rotates to the right, the volume of the cylinder is gradually reduced, thus starting to compress the gas. Due to the backstop function of the intake valve, the gas in the cylinder cannot return to the intake pipe, the air pressure in the outlet pipe is higher than the air pressure in the cylinder, and the gas in the cylinder cannot escape from the exhaust valve to the outside of the cylinder. The gas in the exhaust pipe has a backstop effect due to the exhaust valve, so it cannot flow into the cylinder. Therefore, the amount of gas in the cylinder remains constant, and only because the piston continues to move to the right, the amount of air in the cylinder decreases and the gas pressure continues to increase.


5. Discharge: When the piston moves to the right and the pressure of the compressed gas rises slightly to the air pressure in the outlet pipe, the gas in the cylinder opens the spring of the exhaust valve and enters the outlet pipe, and continues to discharge until the piston moves. Until the correct end. Then, the piston starts to move to the left again, repeating the above action. The piston continuously reciprocates in the cylinder to recirculate the cylinder and discharge gas. Each reciprocating movement of the piston becomes a working cycle, and the distance the piston passes each time or once is called the stroke.
